Q: Describe your duties and responsibilities during your traineeship?
A: I worked as a trainee in sales in the Nordic Machine Building team. My main duties were subsegmenting Machine Building customers and surveying Componenta’s current machine shop subcontracting network in the Nordic countries. Additionally, I participated in information searching concerning the strategy defining process for product development.
Q: Where did you start in the first summer and where did you complete your international training period?
A: During my first summer in 2010, I worked in the headquarters in Helsinki. My second trainee period began in spring 2011 when I wanted to start to write my Master’s thesis. Initial plan was to spend the summer in a unit abroad, but I preferred writing the thesis.
Q: Share your experiences of Componenta’s International Trainee Program?
A: I really enjoyed my trainee periods. Especially, the people working in Componenta were really friendly, helpful and inspiring. I got to do and participate in many interesting projects. I also appreciated the chance to affect to the content of my tasks according to my interest and Componenta’s flexibility in tailoring my training periods.
Q: Would you recommend the program? What were the best issues during the program?
A: The programme is a good way to familiarize yourself with Componenta and different parts of the business. All in all, I think the program was well arranged and it was easy to start working with your own projects.
Q: After the training program, what career opportunities Componenta has offered to you?
A: After finishing my Master’s thesis I joined the Customer Service Center team in Helsinki. My main duties concern the operational sales issues of certain customer accounts such as order handling, logistics, subcontracting purchasing, reclamations and invoicing.
