Componenta International Trainee Program FAQ

Who can be selected to the International Trainee Program?

Componenta is operating in an international business environment - and to enjoy this environment you are willing to take the opportunity to prove your skills and can make things happen, active and eager to learn, have an open mind, enjoy working in a multi-national team, and communicate fluently in English.

You are an university student and planning to graduate within two years. You have probably chosen one of the following majors:

• Accounting/finance
• Business administration
• Sales
• Metallurgy
• Mechanical Engineering 
• Industrial Engineering
• Industrial Management
• Logistics 
• or another relevant field of study

What kind of trainee positions do you have open?

For the summer 2012, we have a trainee positions:

• in engineering, finance, sales, HR and supply chain in Helsinki, Finland
• in engineering and sales in Weert, the Netherlands
• in operations, engineering, finance and support functions in Orhangazi, Turkey
• in engineering, sales and finance in Manisa, Turkey
• in engineering in Främmestad, Sweden
• in supply chain and sales in Stuttgard, Germany
• in sales in Torino, Italy
  
  

Does this International Trainee Program run every year?

The program takes two summers, and therefore the main application period is only every two years. Into Componenta's International Trainee Program every other spring, we select approximately 25 excellent students from universities across Componenta countries, with accomplished 2-4 year studies.

When are the participants to the program selected?

The selection of participants will be made in March 2012 after round table interviews.

How long does the trainee program last?

Componenta International Trainee Program takes two summers: the first summer you will work in the country you have applied to the program through, and after successful completition of the first summer, for the second summer you have the opportunity to find your way to an international traineeship and work in another Componenta country.

When does the program start?

The International Trainee Program starts in May/June and the first part of it ends in August/September. The same dates apply for the second summer. It is important that you can participate in our commonly arranged orientation and start your traineeship already in May/June together with the other participants.

Can I work for Componenta in between these two summers?

Yes, Componenta has often had projects appropriate and interesting for students. After the first summer of the program you can discuss with your manager and mentor in Componenta about possible projects for you for the winter along with your studies.

Where can I go on my international traineeship for the second summer?

Componenta operates in Finland, Sweden, The Netherlands and Turkey. We have production units in all the countries, see them here. The first summer traineehsip takes place in your home country and the unit and function you have applied to. The location for the second summer is agreed on based on your experience, skills and preferences and the needs our units have.

If I go abroad for the second summer, will I be assisted in the practicalities?

Yes, Componenta will arrange coordination of the international traineeship and will help you to find the best way to travel, the accommodation and other practicalities needed. Componenta also co-operates with international student organizations to make your stay abroad smooth from the practical aspect and interesting from the professional and social aspect.

Do I have a person who answers my questions and mentors me along the program?

Yes, Componenta has a nominated mentor for all trainees. These Componenta team members have a long experience in their field of expertise and will be happy to introduce you to the interesting trends and developments, as well as Componenta's business and people.

Is there anything special arranged for International Trainee Program participants?

Yes, Componenta arranges special orientation days and get-togethers for the students in our traineeship program. It is important for us that you not only get to know your colleagues in your unit or function but also the other you people at Componenta.
